The different styles of leather marquetry

Leather marquetry with trompe l’oeil effects

Leather marquetry can be used to create trompe l’oeil effects. To achieve this, our team of leatherworkers use the same type of leather in a variety of colours. Once we have assembled the pieces of leather, the illusion of a unique piece is created. What’s more, the sense of touch is also deceived. No irregularities are felt when the hand passes over them.

Leather inlay with textures and contrasts

In contrast to the trompe l’oeil effect, we also create marquetry panels using different types of leather. This juxtaposition of different textures creates striking contrasts. For example, velvet leathers sit alongside smooth, grained leathers. When the same shade of colour is used, touch and light reveal the full richness of the nuances. This style aims to highlight textures that offer unique reflections.

Multi-material marquetry

Multi-material marquetry combines leather with other materials, such as wood or stone. These combinations allow you to play with contrasts and textures, offering infinite design possibilities.

Leather marquetry and reuse of off-cuts

Leather marquetry also enables leather scraps to be recycled. This reuse process contributes to a sustainable approach that respects the environment.
